NHS art students competed for the first time at the Mark Arts Student Versus competition in Wichita on March 6th. This competition was unique in that students competed on site in front of an audience with a 20 minute time frame to create anything in either 2-D media or 3-D media. Each school was allowed two participants; one for each category. Senior Hailey Blankinship competed in the 2-D category by painting, and sophomore Addison Griggs competed in the 3-D category by throwing on the pottery wheel.
These two were cheered on by a support squad of their peers that were able to come and observe and vote on their favorite pieces. While neither student received awards, it was still an awesome opportunity for them to grow and connect with other young artists! We already can’t wait for next year! Go Streaks!!

Due to the state basketball tournament and spring break, the delivery of donuts has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 25. The sophomore class appreciates everyone's support and sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. Best of luck to the Lady Streaks at state!
